Rick and Morty season three premiered in the US on Sunday July 30 – a year-and-a-half since the second season left the series on a cliffhanger in 2015.
But the potty-mouthed scientist Rick returned in ‘The Rickshank Redemption’ after wiping out the Galactic Federation, when the new season premiered on April Fools Day this year.
Show creator Dan Harmon pulled off a reverse-prank on his fans after a brief argument on Twitter, and the first episode aired on Adult Swim on April 1.
Episode two, ‘Rickmancing the Stone’, now fully kicked off the season and new episodes will continue to air every Sunday at 11.30pm on Adult Swim.
How many episodes does Rick and Morty season 3 have?
We were supposed to do 14 this season. And part of our slowness meant we did less episodes than we were supposed to do

The episode count for the third season has been all over the place, as Rick and Morty’s showrunners still worked on the new series ahead of the premiere.
But in a special live stream event last month, Harmon announced that the new season will have 10 episodes. Season one had 11 and season two had 10.
Harmon initially revealed at the Magic City Comic-con in December that season three would have as many as 14 episodes.
Speaking this month to TIME, he also said: “We were supposed to do 14 this season. And part of our slowness meant we did less episodes than we were supposed to do.”
